Almost everything I read right now is about the election, and while these reflections are valuable, and I am also doing a lot of assessing and learning, sometimes escapism is healthy. So this has absolutely nothing to do with this past week’s election races and everything to do light, fun froth.
What is something that you are surprisingly good at or know a lot about?
For me, that is home manicures. My 12-year-old daughter wanted me to do her nails the other evening, and as I was painting, I coached her on how long she needed to let the coats dry, how she needed to keep her cuticles hydrated, and how to fix spillover mistakes. She asked how I knew all of this information, and it occurred to me that I had picked up a lot of knowledge about nail care in the past few years—which is funny because I am not really a beauty guru.
